How We Patch a Wall So You Can't Tell It Was Ever Damaged

A drywall patch fails visually for one of two reasons: the seams aren't feathered out far enough, or the texture doesn't match the surrounding wall. Both are fixable, but neither one happens if you rush the mud stage.

We run at least two coats on any patch bigger than a nail hole, feathering each one wider than the last so there's no hard edge for light to catch. Texture gets matched by hand before the final coat, not guessed at with a can of spray texture.

It adds a day to most jobs. It's also the difference between a patch and a repair.
